Charlotte, NC Real Estate Market

Optimist Park and Oaklawn Park

Both historically African American neighborhoods, over the last decade there has been tremendous growth in Optimist due to various zoning and closer proximity to Uptown and the NODA Arts District due to the Davidson Street corridor. In Optimist Park you will find townhouses, apartments, single family houses, industrial properties and commercial properties. Additionally, optimist neighbors have access to the the light right.

Oaklawn Park has its “historic” designation and is more single family dominant. You’ll find schools and commercial along the Beatties Ford corridor. This neighborhood is equipped with sidewalks and a park. It is a little further from Uptown, but not far from major destinations in Charlotte. Driving through the neighborhood you will find “out of place” houses just like in Optimist.

If you’ve made it this far in the post, and looking to move closer to Uptown but want a single family home, consider Oaklawn Park. I have a great opportunity there.
